In 2021, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in the Europe insulating fittings market, when its value decreased by -9.9% to $X. In general, consumption recorded a perceptible contraction. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the market failed to regain momentum.

The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, reducing by -5.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 32% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Portugal ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+12.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe

After two years of growth, overseas purchases of insulating fittings for electrical purposes decreased by -2.9% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, insulating fittings imports rose notably to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 14%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Switzerland (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Sweden (with a CAGR of +24.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Spain ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 31% of total imports. These countries were followed by Sweden, France, Romania, Italy, the UK, Switzerland, Poland, Belgium, Croatia and Slovakia, which together accounted for a further 40%.

Among the main importing countries, Sweden, with a CAGR of +17.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 15% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
