The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, production failed to regain momentum.

Exports in Europe

In 2021, shipments abroad of lifting equipment designed for mounting on road vehicles increased by 17% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, mounting lifting equipment exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

In 2021, Italy (X units), distantly followed by Austria (X units), Poland (X units), Denmark (X units) and Estonia (X units) represented the major exporters of lifting equipment designed for mounting on road vehicles, together comprising 70% of total exports. The following exporters - Slovakia (X units), Belgium (X units), France (X units), Spain (X units), Finland (X units), Germany (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) - together made up 22% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Slovakia (with a CAGR of +41.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest mounting lifting equipment supplying countries in Europe were Austria ($X), Italy ($X) and Poland ($X), with a combined 62% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Spain, Slovakia, Finland, Denmark, France, Belgium, Germany, Estonia and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further 33%.

Slovakia, with a CAGR of +47.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 7.9% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 8.9% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per unit), while Estonia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+11.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe

In 2021, the amount of lifting equipment designed for mounting on road vehicles imported in Europe skyrocketed to X units, increasing by 22% against 2020 figures. Overall, imports posted a tangible increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 204% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, mounting lifting equipment imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

The UK (X units), France (X units), Russia (X units), Germany (X units), Austria (X units), Belgium (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Denmark (X units), Sweden (X units), Spain (X units), Poland (X units) and Italy (X units) represented roughly 81% of total imports in 2021.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Denmark (with a CAGR of +16.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), France ($X) and the UK ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 38% of total imports. Russia, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Denmark and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 42%.

Spain, with a CAGR of +16.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, surging by 1.9% against the previous year. Import price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, mounting lifting equipment import price decreased by -3.8% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 184%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
