In value terms, the largest machine tool for metal importing markets in Europe were Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and Poland ($X), together comprising 24% of total imports. These countries were followed by the Czech Republic, Portugal, Belgium, France, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, the UK, Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which together accounted for a further 44%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a CAGR of +14.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 138% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while the UK ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
