In value terms, prophylactic medicaments containing insulin exports declined to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a slight decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 30%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, purchases abroad of medicaments containing insulin but not antibiotics in measured doses decreased by -12.6% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after five years of growth. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 9.4%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
