In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, rising by 27% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while Slovakia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+12.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last nine years. Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +41.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
