In value terms, mixes and doughs exports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Exports by Country
The shipments of the four major exporters of mixes and doughs, namely France, Germany, Belgium and Austria, represented more than half of total export. It was distantly followed by Greece (X tons) and the UK (X tons), together generating an 11% share of total exports. The following exporters - the Netherlands (X tons), Poland (X tons), Switzerland (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Denmark (X tons) and Italy (X tons) - together made up 19% of total exports.

The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 4.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 7.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+1.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe
In 2022, imports of mixes and doughs in Europe expanded significantly to X tons, increasing by 9.7% against the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The purchases of the ten major importers of mixes and doughs, namely Germany, the UK, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Austria and Sweden, represented more than two-thirds of total import. The following importers - Hungary (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Ireland (X tons) - each accounted for a 6.3% share of total imports.

France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Poland, Austria, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Ireland and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 44%.

In 2022, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 4.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 7.3%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in the UK ($X per ton) and Italy ($X per ton), while Spain ($X per ton) and Hungary ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
