Monitors and projectors exports soared to X units in 2022, increasing by 29% against 2021 figures. In general, exports, however, recorded a deep slump. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, monitors and projectors exports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep contraction. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

In 2022, the Czech Republic (X units) represented the main exporter of monitors and projectors, achieving 68% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Sweden (X units), making up an 18% share of total exports. The following exporters - Ireland (X units), Spain (X units), Italy (X units) and Finland (X units) - together made up 11% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to monitors and projectors exports from the Czech Republic stood at +5.9%. At the same time, Finland (+11.6%) and Sweden (+5.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Finland emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of +11.6% from 2012-2022. Spain experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Ireland (-10.4%) and Italy (-11.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of the Czech Republic, Sweden, Spain, Finland and Ireland increased by +61, +16, +2.6, +1.6 and +1.5 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) remains the largest monitors and projectors supplier in Europe, comprising 48% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Sweden ($X), with a 23% share of total exports. It was followed by Italy, with a 9.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the Czech Republic totaled +2.1%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Sweden (+3.4% per year) and Italy (-6.2% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 8.6% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while Finland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+5.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of monitors and projectors increased by 27% to X units, rising for the third year in a row after three years of decline. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt curtailment. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Germany was the main importer of monitors and projectors in Europe, with the volume of imports resulting at X units, which was approx. 49% of total imports in 2022. The UK (X units) held a 31% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Switzerland (5.4%), Norway (5.3%) and Ukraine (4.9%).

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Switzerland (with a CAGR of +15.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 57% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2022, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per unit), while Ukraine ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
