The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +50.6% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 18%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, motor grader exports contracted markedly to $X in 2022. In general, exports recorded a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 28%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.

Exports by Country

In 2022, the UK (X units), distantly followed by Italy (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Poland (X units) and Germany (X units) were the major exporters of motor graders and levellers, together generating 72% of total exports. The Czech Republic (X units), Belgium (X units), France (X units), Switzerland (X units), Slovenia (X units), Austria (X units) and Lithuania (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Switzerland (with a CAGR of +21.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 55% of total exports.

Among the main exporting countries, Italy, with a CAGR of +16.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, which is down by -23% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a perceptible contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the export price increased by 18% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per unit), while Switzerland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+12.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of growth, overseas purchases of motor graders and levellers decreased by -26.6% to X units in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a slight downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 76% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

In value terms, motor grader imports contracted dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 51%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell rapidly in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, the UK (X units), distantly followed by Hungary (X units), Russia (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Spain (X units) were the key importers of motor graders and levellers, together making up 67% of total imports. Romania (X units), France (X units), Greece (X units), Poland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Germany (X units), Slovakia (X units) and Sweden (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +41.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported motor graders and levellers in Europe, comprising 27% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with an 8.7% share of total imports. It was followed by France, with a 7.4% share.

In Russia, motor grader imports contracted by an average annual rate of -3.0% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Netherlands (-3.0% per year) and France (-0.4% per year).

The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Import price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, motor grader import price decreased by -13.2% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 68%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
