In 2022, the amount of motor vehicles for travelling on snow or golf cars exported in Europe contracted to X units, waning by -10.2% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, snow motor vehicle exports surged to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +66.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 32%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Finland (X units), distantly followed by the Netherlands (X units), Germany (X units), Belgium (X units), Poland (X units), the UK (X units) and Spain (X units) were the major exporters of motor vehicles for travelling on snow or golf cars, together mixing up 87% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +28.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Finland ($X) remains the largest snow motor vehicle supplier in Europe, comprising 58% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 6.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Spain, with a 5.9% share.
In Finland, snow motor vehicle exports increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+14.7% per year) and Spain (+3.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 41% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per unit), while Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+7.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe
In 2022, the amount of motor vehicles for travelling on snow or golf cars imported in Europe expanded significantly to X units, growing by 7.1% on the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 22%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, snow motor vehicle imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 30% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
The UK represented the main importing country with an import of around X units, which reached 34% of total imports. Germany (X units) took a 16% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by the Netherlands (10%) and Sweden (6%). The following importers - Italy (X units), Spain (X units), Belgium (X units), Russia (X units), France (X units), Norway (X units), Poland (X units) and Denmark (X units) - together made up 22% of total imports.
Imports into the UK increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Poland (+19.2%), Germany (+17.5%), Spain (+11.9%), Sweden (+6.6%), Italy (+5.0%), Denmark (+2.1%) and Norway (+1.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Poland emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Europe, with a CAGR of +19.2% from 2012-2022. The Netherlands experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Belgium (-7.5%), France (-10.7%) and Russia (-15.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Germany (+12 p.p.), the UK (+5.9 p.p.), Spain (+2.3 p.p.) and Sweden (+2.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Russia saw its share reduced by -1.8%, -6.2%, -6.4% and -13.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Sweden ($X), the UK ($X) and Russia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 39% of total imports. Norway, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Denmark and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 44%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Spain, with a CAGR of +16.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 8.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per unit), while the UK ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
