Multimeter Market Size in Europe

The Europe multimeter market contracted to $X in 2022, with a decrease of -7.1% against the previous year. In general, consumption saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, multimeter production expanded modestly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, recorded a slight slump. In 2022, Romania (X units), distantly followed by Germany (X units) and Hungary (X units) represented the main exporters of multimeters, together committing 72% of total exports. The following exporters - the Netherlands (X units), Italy (X units), Austria (X units), Poland (X units), the UK (X units), Belarus (X units), Belgium (X units), France (X units) and Spain (X units) - together made up 24% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Romania (with a CAGR of +62.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest multimeter supplying countries in Europe were Germany ($X), Romania ($X) and Hungary ($X), together comprising 57% of total exports. Italy, the UK, the Netherlands, Austria, France, Poland, Belgium, Spain and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Austria, with a CAGR of +39.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -4.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a abrupt setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 7.3%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+9.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of multimeters decreased by -8.7% to X units in 2022. Total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +13.8% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 29% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, multimeter imports reduced to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +14.3% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 32%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then declined in the following year.

Imports by Country

The purchases of the nine major importers of multimeters, namely Germany, Russia, Poland, Romania, France, the Netherlands, the UK, Spain and the Czech Republic, represented more than two-thirds of total import. The following importers - Italy (X units), Belgium (X units), Hungary (X units) and Slovakia (X units) - together made up 8.9% of total imports.

Romania, with a CAGR of +30.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, waning by -4.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a slight descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 19%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+7.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
