Non-Electric Industrial Furnace Market Size in Europe

The total consumption indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The total production indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, production increased by +3.4% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the production volume increased by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production reached the maximum level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in Europe
Non-electric industrial furnace exports stood at X units in 2022, surging by 3.8% on the previous year. Overall, exports, however, showed a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 24%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, non-electric industrial furnace exports amounted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 36% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Italy was the key exporter of non-electric industrial or laboratory furnaces and ovens in Europe, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was approx. 44% of total exports in 2022. Germany (X units) held a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Spain (6.9%), the UK (6.9%), the Netherlands (6.7%) and Portugal (5.3%). The Czech Republic (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to non-electric industrial furnace exports from Italy stood at -1.1%. At the same time, the UK (+2.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the UK emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of +2.3% from 2012-2022. Portugal and the Netherlands experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Spain (-1.2%), the Czech Republic (-2.3%) and Germany (-5.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Italy, the UK, the Netherlands and Portugal increased by +5.6, +2.6, +1.8 and +1.5 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest non-electric industrial furnace supplying countries in Europe were Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), with a combined 66% share of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, the Netherlands, with a CAGR of +3.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, waning by -3.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 10%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Portugal ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+2.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe
In 2022, overseas purchases of non-electric industrial or laboratory furnaces and ovens increased by 1.9% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, saw a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 73% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-electric industrial furnace imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 59% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
The Netherlands (X units) and Russia (X units) were the main importers of non-electric industrial or laboratory furnaces and ovens in 2022, reaching approx. 20% and 19% of total imports, respectively. Spain (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 13% share, followed by the UK (7.4%), France (5.2%), Poland (5%) and Ukraine (4.9%). The following importers - Switzerland (X units), Bulgaria (X units), Hungary (X units), Belarus (X units) and Romania (X units) - together made up 11% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +23.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest non-electric industrial furnace importing markets in Europe were the Netherlands ($X), Russia ($X) and Spain ($X), with a combined 57% share of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, the Netherlands, with a CAGR of +32.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, with an increase of 26% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.2%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
