The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the export price increased by 172%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+8.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Russia ($X) and the UK ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 33% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Poland, France, Austria, Denmark, Italy, Belgium, Spain, the Czech Republic and Hungary, which together accounted for a further 46%.
Denmark, with a CAGR of +17.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, standing approx. at the previous year. Import price indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, non-numerically controlled drilling machine import price increased by +97.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 95%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
