In value terms, non-woven glass fibre articles exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Belgium (X tons), distantly followed by the UK (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Germany (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the key exporters of non-woven glass fibre webs, felts, mattresses and boards, together comprising 69% of total exports. The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 6.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a slight curtailment. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+2.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe

The following importers - Belgium (X tons), the UK (X tons), Ukraine (X tons), Austria (X tons), Denmark (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) - together made up 30% of total imports.
Imports into France increased at an average annual rate of +11.3% from 2012 to 2021. Moreover, Ukraine emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Europe, with a CAGR of +66.1% from 2012-2021. Belgium experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Germany (-2.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. France (+6.7 p.p.), Ukraine (+4.1 p.p.), Austria (+2.6 p.p.), Poland (+2.4 p.p.) and Spain (+2.3 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the UK, Belgium and Germany saw its share reduced by -1.6%, -2.4% and -8.7% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, France ($X), Germany ($X) and Spain ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 35% of total imports. Poland, the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 39%.
Ukraine, with a CAGR of +51.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, rising by 7.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a slight shrinkage. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
