Aromatic Monoamines Market Size in Europe

The Europe aromatic monoamines market reduced to $X in 2021, with a decrease of -3.5% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, showed a abrupt decrease. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in Europe

After two years of growth, overseas shipments of other aromatic monoamines and their derivatives, salts thereof decreased by -1.1% to X tons in 2021. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 10%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2020, and then declined modestly in the following year.

In value terms, aromatic monoamines exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2021, Germany (X tons) was the key exporter of other aromatic monoamines and their derivatives, salts thereof, committing 65% of total exports. Belgium (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Italy (X tons). All these countries together held near 27% share of total exports. Slovakia (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) took a little share of total exports.

Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of other aromatic monoamines and their derivatives, salts thereof. At the same time, Slovakia (+70.9%), the Netherlands (+22.5%) and Belgium (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Slovakia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of +70.9% from 2012-2021. Italy experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Slovakia (+3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Germany (-4.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest aromatic monoamines supplier in Europe, comprising 42% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Italy, with a 12% share.

In Germany, aromatic monoamines exports increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belgium (-5.1% per year) and Italy (-0.6% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, surging by 18% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a slight shrinkage. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while Slovakia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+5.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Aromatic Monoamines Imports

Imports in Europe

For the third year in a row, Europe recorded growth in purchases abroad of other aromatic monoamines and their derivatives, salts thereof, which increased by 10% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, aromatic monoamines imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Belgium (X tons), distantly followed by Germany (X tons), Italy (X tons), Switzerland (X tons) and France (X tons) were the key importers of other aromatic monoamines and their derivatives, salts thereof, together achieving 87% of total imports. Poland (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +8.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest aromatic monoamines importing markets in Europe were Germany ($X), Belgium ($X) and Switzerland ($X), with a combined 64% share of total imports. France, Italy, the Netherlands and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.

Among the main importing countries, Poland, with a CAGR of +11.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 5.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the import price increased by 37% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per ton), while Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+13.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
