There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while Slovakia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In value terms, Germany ($X), the UK ($X) and Poland ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 35% share of total imports. France, Russia, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Sweden, Slovakia and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 44%.
Romania, with a CAGR of +8.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 3.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 6.6%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.
