In 2021, Italy (X tons) and Germany (X tons) represented the major exporters of paper sacks and bags in Europe, together recording near 34% of total exports. Poland (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Spain (X tons) and Serbia (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 21% share of total exports. Belgium (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Portugal (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), the UK (X tons), France (X tons), Croatia (X tons) and Russia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Croatia (with a CAGR of +28.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest paper sack and bag supplying countries in Europe were Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and Poland ($X), with a combined 44% share of total exports. Spain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Serbia, the UK, Croatia and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 39%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Croatia, with a CAGR of +29.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 8.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the export price increased by 8.1%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+6.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
