In value terms, plastic furniture fittings exports soared to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.
Exports by Country
In 2021, Poland (X tons), distantly followed by Germany (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and France (X tons) were the key exporters of plastic fittings for furniture, together generating 77% of total exports. Portugal (X tons), Italy (X tons), Austria (X tons), Spain (X tons) and the UK (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +12.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest plastic furniture fittings supplying countries in Europe were Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and Slovakia ($X), with a combined 55% share of total exports. The Czech Republic, France, Portugal, Hungary, Austria, Italy, the UK and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.
Italy, with a CAGR of +10.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.9%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+15.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe
After two years of decline, purchases abroad of plastic fittings for furniture increased by 6.8% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The countries with the highest levels of plastic furniture fittings imports in 2021 were Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), the UK (X tons), Spain (X tons), Hungary (X tons), France (X tons), Russia (X tons), Ukraine (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons), together amounting to 82% of total import.

In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported plastic fittings for furniture in Europe, comprising 23% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Poland ($X), with an 8.5% share of total imports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with a 7.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Germany amounted to +8.8%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (-1.3% per year) and the Czech Republic (+5.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 8.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.0%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 14%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Lithuania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+11.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
