Polyacetals Market Size in Europe

The Europe polyacetals market was estimated at $X in 2021, rising by 4.6% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 466%. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, polyacetals exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports posted a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 463%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

The biggest shipments were from Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Belgium (X tons), together finishing at 93% of total export.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +33.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Belgium ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 92% share of total exports.

Among the main exporting countries, the Netherlands, with a CAGR of +28.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, surging by 12% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild descent. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Polyacetals Imports

Imports in Europe

Polyacetals imports soared to X tons in 2021, picking up by 27% compared with 2020. Total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +86.3% against 2015 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, polyacetals imports surged to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +42.1% against 2018 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Belgium (X tons), distantly followed by Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Italy (X tons), France (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) represented the largest importers of polyacetals in primary forms, together mixing up 73% of total imports. Austria (X tons), Spain (X tons), Poland (X tons), the UK (X tons), Slovenia (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Romania (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +27.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest polyacetals importing markets in Europe were Belgium ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X), together comprising 47% of total imports. France, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Spain, the UK, Romania, Slovenia and Hungary lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 40%.

The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +18.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 13% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
