The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 45% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+0.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the third year in a row, Europe recorded growth in overseas purchases of polyethylene in primary forms, which increased by 5.6% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in the Czech Republic ($X per ton) and Sweden ($X per ton), while Belgium ($X per ton) and Spain ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
