In value terms, potato exports stood at $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 43% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. In terms of the main exporting countries, Belarus, with a CAGR of +27.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by 28% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Germany, Russia, Italy, France, Portugal, Greece, Romania, the Czech Republic and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 37%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +11.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
