In value terms, preserved turkey exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
In 2021, Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) represented the largest exporter of prepared or preserved meat or offal of turkeys in Europe, creating 71% of total export. France (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 6.6% share, followed by Italy (4.6%). Ireland (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +8.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), Belgium ($X) and Poland ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 49% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Hungary, Spain, France, Ireland and Italy, which together accounted for a further 37%.

In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, rising by 7.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 11%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($X per ton), while Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ireland (+2.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Portugal (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +29.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest preserved turkey importing markets in Europe were France ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Germany ($X), together accounting for 34% of total imports. These countries were followed by Belgium, Ireland, the UK, Italy, Hungary, Austria, Spain, Romania, Portugal and Poland, which together accounted for a further 46%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +27.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 8.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($X per ton), while Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
