Radio Receiver Market Size in Europe

In 2022, the Europe radio receiver market increased by 26% to $X, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate a mild reduction. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, overseas shipments of radio receivers decreased by -29% to X units, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 7.1%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, radio receiver exports contracted dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 11%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Germany (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Portugal (X units) represented the key exporter of radio receivers in Europe, creating 48% of total export. Hungary (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 7.5% share, followed by Poland (5.8%), France (5.3%), the Czech Republic (5.1%), Belgium (4.8%) and Spain (4.8%).

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +7.4%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In value terms, Portugal ($X) remains the largest radio receiver supplier in Europe, comprising 34% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Hungary, with a 13% share.

In Portugal, radio receiver exports shrank by an average annual rate of -3.0% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (-7.5% per year) and Hungary (+0.5% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 9.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the export price increased by 13%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($X per unit), while the Netherlands ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+6.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe

Radio receiver imports reduced to X units in 2022, waning by -14.5% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, radio receiver imports reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 1.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Germany (X units), distantly followed by Russia (X units), France (X units), the UK (X units), Spain (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Hungary (X units) were the major importers of radio receivers, together achieving 65% of total imports. The following importers - the Czech Republic (X units), Belgium (X units), Poland (X units), Romania (X units), Italy (X units) and Austria (X units) - together made up 20% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to radio receiver imports into Germany stood at -4.8%. At the same time, Hungary (+9.8%) and Romania (+1.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hungary emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Europe, with a CAGR of +9.8% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Austria (-2.4%), Poland (-3.4%), Spain (-3.6%), the Czech Republic (-4.7%), Russia (-7.8%), the Netherlands (-8.5%), Italy (-9.2%), the UK (-10.1%), France (-10.5%) and Belgium (-12.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Hungary (+4 p.p.), Germany (+3.3 p.p.), Spain (+1.7 p.p.) and Romania (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Russia, the Netherlands, the UK, Belgium and France saw its share reduced by -1.6%, -1.7%, -3.5%, -4% and -4.5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported radio receivers in Europe, comprising 25% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with a 7.2% share of total imports. It was followed by the UK, with a 7.1% share.

In Germany, radio receiver imports declined by an average annual rate of -8.0% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Russia (-10.4% per year) and the UK (-12.9% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 5.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a mild setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 6.5% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
