France (X units) and Slovenia (X units) represented roughly 68% of total exports in 2022. Spain (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 13% share, followed by Russia (6.6%). In value terms, Russia ($X), France ($X) and Hungary ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 47% of total exports.
Among the main exporting countries, France, with a CAGR of +83.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, growing by 228% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 621% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per unit), while Austria ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+16.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Railway passenger coach imports totaled X units in 2022, rising by 7.7% against 2021 figures. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 748% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, railway passenger coach imports dropped significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 74%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Spain prevails in imports structure, finishing at X units, which was approx. 67% of total imports in 2022. France (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 8.3% share, followed by Russia (5.7%). In value terms, the largest railway passenger coach importing markets in Europe were Spain ($X), Switzerland ($X) and Russia ($X), together comprising 38% of total imports.
Spain, with a CAGR of +54.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, which is down by -50.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 728% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
