At the same time, Croatia (+119.5%) and Slovenia (+5.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Croatia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of +119.5% from 2012-2022. Germany and the UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Belgium (-3.0%) and France (-6.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Germany ($X) and the UK ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 77% of total exports. Belgium, France, Croatia and Slovenia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Croatia, with a CAGR of +96.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, rising by 22% against the previous year. Export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, salts of acetic acid export price increased by +81.8% against 2015 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while Slovenia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+11.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +71.2% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 16%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, salts of acetic acid imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a buoyant expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Germany (X tons), distantly followed by the Netherlands (X tons), France (X tons), Spain (X tons), Italy (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Poland (X tons) represented the major importers of salts of acetic acid, together generating 75% of total imports.
