As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, copper sanitary ware exports surged to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Germany was the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which recorded 34% of total exports. Italy (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Belgium (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons). All these countries together took near 30% share of total exports. The following exporters - Austria (X tons), France (X tons), the UK (X tons), Spain (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Sweden (X tons), Greece (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Portugal (X tons) - together made up 29% of total exports.

Exports from Germany increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Belgium (+29.9%), Greece (+17.2%), Poland (+11.1%), Austria (+10.6%), France (+9.9%), Sweden (+9.7%), the Netherlands (+4.5%) and the UK (+4.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belgium emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of +29.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the Czech Republic (-2.6%), Italy (-5.1%), Portugal (-9.8%) and Spain (-10.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Belgium (+9.3 p.p.), Germany (+5.7 p.p.), Austria (+2.2 p.p.), France (+2.1 p.p.), Greece (+1.8 p.p.) and the Netherlands (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of the Czech Republic (-1.6 p.p.), Portugal (-3.7 p.p.), Spain (-7.2 p.p.) and Italy (-10.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest copper sanitary ware supplier in Europe, comprising 48% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 5.3% share.

In Germany, copper sanitary ware exports increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (-3.2% per year) and Belgium (+25.0% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, approximately mirroring the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by 7.8%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Greece ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, imports of sanitary ware and parts of copper in Europe skyrocketed to X tons, picking up by 23% on the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Imports by Country

In 2021, Germany (X tons) and the UK (X tons) represented the major importers of sanitary ware and parts of copper in Europe, together resulting at near 37% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Austria (X tons), Italy (X tons), Belgium (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and France (X tons), together achieving a 33% share of total imports. Spain (X tons), Denmark (X tons), Poland (X tons), Russia (X tons), Switzerland (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The Netherlands, Italy, France, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, Russia, Spain, Poland and Sweden lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 48%.

Poland, with a CAGR of +17.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 10% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per ton), while the UK ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
