The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the production volume increased by 46%. Over the period under review, production reached the peak level in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

For the third consecutive year, Europe recorded growth in overseas shipments of sawing machines for working stone, ceramics and concrete, which increased by 18% to X units in 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 140% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, stone sawing machine exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

The Netherlands was the largest exporter of sawing machines for working stone, ceramics and concrete in Europe, with the volume of exports amounting to X units, which was approx. 45% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Italy (X units) and Spain (X units), together creating a 35% share of total exports. Germany (X units), Hungary (X units), Sweden (X units) and Poland (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +30.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Italy ($X) remains the largest stone sawing machine supplier in Europe, comprising 54% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Spain ($X), with a 9.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 6.5% share.

In Italy, stone sawing machine exports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Spain (+19.4% per year) and Germany (+4.4% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 2.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 82% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+15.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2021, imports of sawing machines for working stone, ceramics and concrete in Europe soared to X units, rising by 60% against the previous year's figure. In general, imports showed a pronounced expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, stone sawing machine imports surged to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +106.1% against 2015 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

The Netherlands represented the main importer of sawing machines for working stone, ceramics and concrete in Europe, with the volume of imports accounting for X units, which was near 49% of total imports in 2021. The UK (X units) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Germany (X units). All these countries together held approx. 23% share of total imports. France (X units), Poland (X units), Belgium (X units), Portugal (X units), Sweden (X units), Ukraine (X units) and Spain (X units) took a little share of total imports.

Imports into the Netherlands increased at an average annual rate of +12.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the UK (+21.8%), Portugal (+13.4%), Belgium (+9.7%), Spain (+5.5%), Germany (+4.5%) and Ukraine (+2.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the UK emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Europe, with a CAGR of +21.8% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Poland (-1.9%), Sweden (-5.7%) and France (-12.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The Netherlands (+22 p.p.) and the UK (+14 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Poland, Sweden and France saw its share reduced by -2.1%, -3% and -17.6% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest stone sawing machine importing markets in Europe were Germany ($X), France ($X) and the UK ($X), together accounting for 32% of total imports. The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Belgium, Spain and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 36%.

Spain, with a CAGR of +25.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, shrinking by -15.1% against the previous year. Import price indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, stone sawing machine import price decreased by -42.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 119%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($X per unit), while the Netherlands ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
