In 2022, the average yield of sheep and goat meat in Europe fell modestly to X kg per head, remaining constant against the previous year. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
France represented the major importer of sheep and goat meat in Europe, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. The UK (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Belgium (X tons). All these countries together held near X% share of total imports. The following importers - Sweden (X tons) and Ireland (X tons) - each resulted at a X% share of total imports.
France experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of sheep and goat meat.
