The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the production volume increased by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production attained the maximum level at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in Europe
In 2021, after three years of growth, there was decline in shipments abroad of soybean oilcake, when their volume decreased by -0.9% to X tons. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 9%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then declined modestly in the following year.
In value terms, soybean oilcake exports surged to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
The Netherlands (X tons) and Germany (X tons) represented the largest exporters of soybean oilcake in 2021, finishing at approx. 30% and 22% of total exports, respectively. Russia (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Slovenia (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 26% share of total exports. The following exporters - Spain (X tons), Belarus (X tons), Italy (X tons), Norway (X tons) and Romania (X tons) - together made up 12% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Ukraine (with a CAGR of +47.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Germany ($X) and Russia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 60% of total exports. These countries were followed by Slovenia, Ukraine, Belgium, Belarus, Spain, Italy, Romania and Norway, which together accounted for a further 31%.
Ukraine, with a CAGR of +47.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 24% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+2.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Europe
For the third year in a row, Europe recorded growth in overseas purchases of soybean oilcake, which increased by 1.5% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 5.8%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country
The countries with the highest levels of soybean oilcake imports in 2021 were France (X tons), Spain (X tons), Poland (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), the UK (X tons), Germany (X tons), Italy (X tons), Denmark (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Slovenia (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Ireland (X tons), together accounting for 83% of total import.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovenia (with a CAGR of +15.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, France ($X), Poland ($X) and Spain ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 32% of total imports. The Netherlands, the UK, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Belgium, Russia, Slovenia and Ireland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 50%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Slovenia, with a CAGR of +14.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, rising by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Russia ($X per ton) and Germany ($X per ton), while Belgium ($X per ton) and Denmark ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+0.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
