The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +68.4% against 2015 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, the Netherlands (X units), Germany (X units), France (X units) and Hungary (X units) represented the major exporter of spectacles and goggles in Europe, committing 62% of total export. Poland (X units) held a 5.5% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the Czech Republic (4.9%) and Italy (4.6%). The following exporters - the UK (X units), Estonia (X units), Russia (X units), Spain (X units), Belgium (X units) and Sweden (X units) - together made up 15% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Estonia (with a CAGR of +24.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Italy ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 49% share of total exports. France, Hungary, Poland, the UK, the Czech Republic, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, Estonia and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 44%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Estonia, with a CAGR of +42.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 9.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 117%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+38.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe
In 2021, imports of spectacles and goggles in Europe contracted dramatically to X units, waning by -29.1% compared with the year before. In general, imports saw a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 61% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, spectacles and goggles imports dropped sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a notable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 73% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced notably in the following year.

Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -11.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 66% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2020, and then shrank in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
