In value terms, telephonic switching apparatus exports rose slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In 2022, the Netherlands (X units) represented the main exporter of telephonic or telegraphic switching apparatus, mixing up 35% of total exports. Germany (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an 11% share, followed by the Czech Republic (10%), Poland (5.9%), Hungary (5.8%) and Sweden (5.1%). In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the largest telephonic switching apparatus supplier in Europe, comprising 38% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with a 10% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in the Netherlands stood at +9.0%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+5.1% per year) and the Czech Republic (+17.6% per year).

In 2022, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 8.8% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 19% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+10.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 17%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then contracted modestly in the following year.

In value terms, telephonic switching apparatus imports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 14%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2022, the Netherlands (X units), distantly followed by Germany (X units), the UK (X units), France (X units), Spain (X units) and Italy (X units) were the major importers of telephonic or telegraphic switching apparatus, together committing 66% of total imports. Sweden (X units), Russia (X units), Poland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Belgium (X units), Hungary (X units) and Switzerland (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

While the share of Spain (+4.6 p.p.), the Netherlands (+4.4 p.p.) and Hungary (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of the UK (-2.9 p.p.), Germany (-3.2 p.p.) and Russia (-3.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest telephonic switching apparatus importing markets in Europe were the Netherlands ($X), Germany ($X) and the UK ($X), with a combined 51% share of total imports. France, the Czech Republic, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Hungary and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 37%.

Hungary, with a CAGR of +23.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+7.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
