In value terms, pneumatic or hydraulic hand tool exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2021, Germany (X tons), distantly followed by Sweden (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Italy (X tons), Poland (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the major exporters of pneumatic or hydraulic hand tools, together constituting 73% of total exports. France (X tons), Spain (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Belarus (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Austria (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Belarus (with a CAGR of +26.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of pneumatic or hydraulic hand tools was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, pneumatic or hydraulic hand tool imports surged to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Russia (X tons), distantly followed by France (X tons), Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons), the UK (X tons), Italy (X tons), Spain (X tons), Ukraine (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) represented the largest importers of pneumatic or hydraulic hand tools, together committing 70% of total imports. Romania (X tons), Belgium (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Belarus (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into Russia increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Romania (+16.2%), Belarus (+14.9%), Spain (+10.4%), Poland (+8.5%), the Netherlands (+8.3%), Italy (+5.7%), the Czech Republic (+4.4%), France (+3.4%), the UK (+2.6%) and Germany (+1.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Romania emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Europe, with a CAGR of +16.2% from 2012-2021. Belgium experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Ukraine (-4.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Romania (+2.9 p.p.), Poland (+2.6 p.p.), Spain (+2.2 p.p.) and the Netherlands (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Russia (-1.6 p.p.), Belgium (-1.9 p.p.), Germany (-2 p.p.) and Ukraine (-4.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest pneumatic or hydraulic hand tool importing markets in Europe were France ($X), Germany ($X) and Russia ($X), with a combined 33% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Belgium, the UK, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Spain, the Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine and Belarus, which together accounted for a further 46%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +8.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
