Aircraft Tyre Market Size in Europe

In 2021, the Europe aircraft tyre market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, consumption, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Aircraft Tyre Production in Europe

In value terms, aircraft tyre production declined to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the production volume increased by 22% against the previous year. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2016 to 2021, production growth remained at a lower figure.

Aircraft Tyre Exports

Exports in Europe

Aircraft tyre exports reached X units in 2021, increasing by 14% compared with the year before. Overall, exports, however, showed a perceptible descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, aircraft tyre exports expanded sharply to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2021, France (X units) and the UK (X units) were the major exporters of tyres for aircraft in Europe, together generating 61% of total exports. Belgium (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 16% share, followed by the Netherlands (10%). The following exporters - Spain (X units), Russia (X units) and Germany (X units) - together made up 11% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +2.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest aircraft tyre supplying countries in Europe were France ($X), the UK ($X) and Belgium ($X), with a combined 70% share of total exports. Germany, the Netherlands, Russia and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 28%.

Spain, with a CAGR of +4.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 14% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+16.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Aircraft Tyre Imports

Imports in Europe

In 2021, the amount of tyres for aircraft imported in Europe rose significantly to X units, growing by 7.2% on 2020. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 17%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, aircraft tyre imports expanded modestly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 19%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, France (X units), distantly followed by the UK (X units), Belgium (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Italy (X units), Germany (X units), Spain (X units) and Russia (X units) represented the largest importers of tyres for aircraft, together generating 90% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +4.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest aircraft tyre importing markets in Europe were France ($X), Germany ($X) and Belgium ($X), with a combined 44% share of total imports.

Germany, with a CAGR of +6.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -2.6% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 14%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
