Bracelet Market Size in Europe

The Europe bracelet market fell notably to $X in 2022, waning by -20.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.

Bracelet Production in Europe

In value terms, bracelet production shrank to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2019 to 2022, production growth remained at a lower figure.

Exports in Europe

In 2022, bracelet exports in Europe surged to X units, jumping by 128% against 2021. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a strong increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, bracelet exports rose significantly to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2022, the UK (X units), distantly followed by Ireland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), the Netherlands (X units), France (X units) and Italy (X units) represented the main exporters of watch straps, bands and bracelets, together achieving 82% of total exports. Switzerland (X units) took a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Ireland (with a CAGR of +75.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest bracelet supplying countries in Europe were France ($X), Switzerland ($X) and Italy ($X), together accounting for 76% of total exports. The Czech Republic, the Netherlands, the UK and Ireland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.

The export price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, with a decrease of -52.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the export price increased by 27% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per unit), while Ireland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+2.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Bracelet Imports

Imports in Europe

In 2022, supplies from abroad of watch straps, bands and bracelets increased by 34% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +71.1% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, bracelet imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

The countries with the highest levels of bracelet imports in 2022 were the Czech Republic (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Switzerland (X units), Germany (X units), France (X units), the UK (X units), Italy (X units), Ireland (X units), Spain (X units) and Poland (X units), together accounting for 80% of total import. Russia (X units), Belgium (X units) and Sweden (X units) held a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Ireland (with a CAGR of +48.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Switzerland ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported watch straps, bands and bracelets in Europe, comprising 41% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with a 9.7% share.

In Switzerland, bracelet imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: France (+4.8% per year) and Germany (+6.2% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, with a decrease of -8.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a perceptible setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 3.3%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
