The UK (X units) took a 5.6% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Austria (4.9%) and Poland (4.5%). Spain (X units), Serbia (X units), Finland (X units), France (X units) and Sweden (X units) took a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +49.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest winche and capstan supplying countries in Europe were Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and the UK ($X), together comprising 45% of total exports. These countries were followed by Finland, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Poland, Spain, Austria, Serbia and Hungary, which together accounted for a further 30%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Hungary, with a CAGR of +22.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, reducing by -20.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the export price increased by 21% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+2.3%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Europe
In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of winches and capstans, when their volume increased by 21% to X units. Total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 34%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 6.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
