In value terms, Germany ($X), Sweden ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together comprising 40% of total exports. France, Finland, Italy, Austria, Russia, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium and Slovenia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 48%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Slovenia, with a CAGR of +57.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 13% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+1.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2013; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while Slovenia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
