The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by 38%. The exports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Norway (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Latvia (X tons) were the main destinations of feldspar exports from Finland, together accounting for 78% of total exports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Thailand and Estonia, which together accounted for a further 17%.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 56%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of feldspar was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, recorded a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 159% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, feldspar imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 138%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Turkey (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and Norway (X tons) were the main suppliers of feldspar imports to Finland, together accounting for 90% of total imports. These countries were followed by Russia, which accounted for a further 8.5%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Russia (with a CAGR of +16.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
