In general, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +42.0% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 33%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, organo-inorganic compounds imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest organo-inorganic compounds supplier to Finland, with a 59% share of total imports. Moreover, organo-inorganic compounds imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), fivefold. The Netherlands (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.4% share.

The second position in the ranking was taken by Canada ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 13% share.
