Abrasives Market Size in France

The French abrasives market rose markedly to $X in 2021, with an increase of 9.6% against the previous year. Overall, the total consumption indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last nine-year period. In 2021, the average abrasives export price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 120% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw prominent growth. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, abrasives imports shrank to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 16%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest abrasives supplier to France, accounting for a 47% share of total imports. Moreover, abrasives imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Greece (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by India (X tons), with an 8.8% share.
