From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Spain (X tons), Japan (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) were the main destinations of aircraft launching gear exports from France, together comprising 54% of total exports. Belgium, Chile, Germany, India, the UK, the United States, Greece, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and Morocco lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Chile (with a CAGR of +771.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Spain ($X), Japan ($X) and India ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for aircraft launching gear exported from France worldwide, together comprising 54% of total exports. These countries were followed by Germany, Greece, South Korea, Belgium, the United States, the UK, Chile, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and Morocco, which together accounted for a further 30%.

Chile, with a CAGR of +741.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average aircraft launching gear export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 78% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a prominent expansion. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Chile ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+33.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 388%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, aircraft launching gear imports contracted markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a noticeable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 116% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2020, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

In 2021, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of aircraft launching gear to France, with a 83% share of total imports. Moreover, aircraft launching gear imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Canada (X tons), tenfold.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the United States totaled +6.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Canada (+193.3% per year) and the Czech Republic (+140.5% per year).

In value terms, the United States ($X) constituted the largest supplier of aircraft launching gear, deck-arrestor or similar gear and parts thereof to France, comprising 72% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Canada ($X), with a 7.5% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from the United States totaled +12.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Canada (+146.5% per year) and the Czech Republic (+128.6% per year).

In 2021, the average aircraft launching gear import price amounted to $X per ton, falling by -30.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, enjoyed a tangible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 92%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Morocco (+33.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
