Imports into France

In 2022, overseas purchases of black printing ink decreased by -20.5% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a mild increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 61%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, black printing ink imports declined slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 53% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest black printing ink supplier to France, accounting for a 41% share of total imports.
