Other Cereals Market Size in France
In 2021, the French other cereals market was finally on the rise to reach $X after two years of decline. In general, consumption, however, saw a perceptible downturn. Other cereals consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.
Other Cereals Production in France
In value terms, other cereals production rose sharply to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, continues to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the production volume increased by 142%. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X. From 2019 to 2021, production growth remained at a lower figure.
The average yield of other cerealses in France rose rapidly to X tons per ha in 2021, picking up by 7.5% against the previous year's figure. Overall, the yield, however, continues to indicate a mild setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the yield increased by 18% against the previous year. The other cereals yield peaked at X tons per ha in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the yield remained at a lower figure. Despite the increased use of modern agricultural techniques and methods, future yield figures may still be impacted by adverse weather conditions.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 58% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, other cereals exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 46% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Spain (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main destinations of other cereals exports from France, with a combined 79% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Belgium (with a CAGR of +15.9%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, the largest markets for other cereals exported from France were Spain ($X), Belgium ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 71% share of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, Germany, with a CAGR of +16.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

From 2019 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+8.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into France
For the third consecutive year, France recorded growth in purchases abroad of other cerealses, which increased by 3.6% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 69%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, other cereals imports declined to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -4.8% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 47%. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Spain (X tons) constituted the largest other cereals supplier to France, accounting for a 47% share of total imports. Moreover, other cereals imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belgium (X tons), threefold. The Netherlands (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Spain stood at +52.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belgium (+21.8% per year) and the Netherlands (+21.0% per year).
In value terms, Spain ($X), Belgium ($X) and Bolivia ($X) appeared to be the largest other cereals suppliers to France, with a combined 48% share of total imports. Peru, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 37%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +60.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average other cereals import price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -4.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Bolivia ($X per ton), while the price for Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
