Germany (X units), Italy (X units) and Belgium (X units) were the main destinations of non-electric chainsaw exports from France, together comprising 70% of total exports.

Imports into France
In 2022, supplies from abroad of chainsaws with a self-contained non-electric motor decreased by -1.2% to X units for the first time since 2016, thus ending a five-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a mild increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 42% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, non-electric chainsaw imports contracted modestly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 35% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then declined slightly in the following year.
Imports by Country
China (X units), Germany (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main suppliers of non-electric chainsaw imports to France, together accounting for 72% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +124.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of chainsaws with a self-contained non-electric motor to France, comprising 52% of total imports.
