Belgium (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main destinations of copper wire exports from France, with a combined 42% share of total exports. Switzerland, Turkey, Romania, Sweden, Morocco, Germany and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 43%.

In 2021, the average copper wire export price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 26% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 28%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of copper wire was finally on the rise to reach X tons after eight years of decline. In general, imports, however, showed a deep reduction. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of copper wire to France, accounting for a 42% share of total imports. Moreover, copper wire imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Belgium (X tons), with a 17% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Italy stood at +17.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-13.5% per year) and Belgium (-14.0% per year).
In value terms, Italy ($X) constituted the largest supplier of copper wire to France, comprising 45% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 17% share.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, copper wire import price increased by +53.4% against 2019 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
