Imports into France
In 2021, overseas purchases of disperse dyes and preparations based thereon were finally on the rise to reach X tons after three years of decline. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable decline. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, disperse dye imports rose sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Germany (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main suppliers of disperse dye imports to France, with a combined 83% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +19.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of disperse dyes and preparations based thereon to France, comprising 49% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Spain ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Belgium, with an 8.6% share.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per ton), while the price for Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+39.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
