There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, fresh pork cut imports amounted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 37%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Spain (X tons) constituted the largest fresh pork cut supplier to France, accounting for a 54% share of total imports. Moreover, fresh pork cut imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the UK (X tons), threefold. Denmark (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Spain stood at -7.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the UK (+68.4% per year) and Denmark (+2.6% per year).

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Spain totaled -8.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Denmark (+3.6% per year) and the UK (+59.3% per year).
