In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 60% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

In value terms, imines imports shrank rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted moderate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

Brazil (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of imines imports to France, together comprising 47% of total imports. These countries were followed by Belgium, China, Poland, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Turkey, the Czech Republic, South Korea, the UK and Japan, which together accounted for a further 49%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Lithuania (with a CAGR of +131.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 24%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
