The Netherlands (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of tall oil fatty acids exports from France, together comprising 59% of total exports. Spain, Germany, Russia and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 25%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of +75.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for tall oil fatty acids exported from France were the UK ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Italy ($X), together comprising 59% of total exports. Spain, Germany, Turkey and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 25%.

Imports into France
In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of industrial tall oil fatty acids, when their volume decreased by -55.9% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports showed a sharp downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 171%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, tall oil fatty acids imports declined notably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a precipitous curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 178% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Finland (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of tall oil fatty acids imports to France, with a combined 84% share of total imports. The Netherlands, Belgium and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 15%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +23.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.
