Iran (X units), Portugal (X units) and Mayotte (X units) were the main destinations of lifting equipment exports from France, with a combined 30% share of total exports. The Netherlands, Spain, Brazil, Jordan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kuwait and Mauritania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 18%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +500.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average lifting equipment export price amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 31% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 35%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. Imports into France
In 2021, supplies from abroad of lifting equipment decreased by -23.8% to X units, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by 172% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, lifting equipment imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, posted strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 223% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Denmark (X units), Italy (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of lifting equipment imports to France, with a combined 52% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the UK, Vietnam, China, the United Arab Emirates, Poland, Belgium, Spain, Slovenia, Tunisia and Romania, which together accounted for a further 39%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Belgium (with a CAGR of +62.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Italy ($X), Denmark ($X) and Germany ($X) were the largest lifting equipment suppliers to France, with a combined 65% share of total imports. In 2021, the average lifting equipment import price amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 53% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 104%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
