Germany (X units) was the main destination for air conditioning machine exports from France, with a 19% share of total exports. Moreover, air conditioning machine exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X units), twofold. From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany amounted to +2.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belgium (+9.2% per year) and the UK (+1.5% per year).

Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then dropped significantly in the following year.

Over the period under review, total imports indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +63.7% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Germany (X units), Thailand (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main suppliers of air conditioning machine imports to France, together comprising 55% of total imports. China, the Netherlands, Turkey, Belgium, Spain, Japan and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 37%.

The average air conditioning machine import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, jumping by 29% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+15.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
