Cayman Islands (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of ship propeller exports from France, together accounting for 51% of total exports. Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Bulgaria, Poland, Gabon, Switzerland, the UK and Sweden lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 33%.

Imports into France
In 2022, overseas purchases of ships’ or boats’ propellers and blades therefor increased by 9% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, saw a slight setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 89% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, ship propeller imports fell slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 88%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Norway (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of ship propeller imports to France, together comprising 34% of total imports. South Korea, Singapore, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, the Philippines, Portugal, the UK and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 58%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Singapore (with a CAGR of +941.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest ship propeller suppliers to France were Belgium ($X), Sweden ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a combined 35% share of total imports. The Netherlands, Italy, the UK, Norway, China, the Philippines, Singapore, Portugal, South Korea and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 50%.

From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the price for South Korea ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
